Alumnus Sean Okoli

New England Revolution (MLS)

The 21-year old Federal Way, Wash. native played for the Sounders FC Academy and U-23s before signing with Seattle as a Homegrown player on January 8, 2014. Okoli made three appearances for the Sounders in 2014, including his MLS debut in the club’s season opener on March 8, 2014.

Collegiately, Okoli enjoyed a three-year career at Wake Forest University. While playing for the Demon Deacons Okoli earned All-ACC honors in all three seasons he attended the college, scoring 24 goals and contributing nine assists. While playing at Wake Forest, Okoli also played in the USL PDL with the Seattle Sounders FC U-23 side in 2012 and 2013. He was also one of the first Academy players to play for the Sounders reserve side in the MLS Reserve League in 2011.

2014: Signed as Seattle Sounders Homegrown Player and made professional debut on March 8, playing the final four minutes and stoppage time of the season opener and helping start the play that led to Chad Barrett's game-winning goal in 94th minute … Made two other substitute appearances in MLS play … Open Cup: Contributed to the Sounders' run to the US Open Cup championship, playing all 90 minutes and scoring in a 5-0 win over amateur club PSA Elite on June 18 in Round 4 … Was an unused substitute for the Round of 16 shootout win over San Jose and the extra-time quarterfinal win over Portland … USL PRO: Loaned out to OC Blues for two games in June and notched one assist … MLS Reserve League: Made seven appearances for the Sounders in Reserve League play, contributing two goals and two assists as Seattle finished 3-1-3.
