BU13 Black complete perfect WCDA season
Success in the Nevada Sun

Six teams from Washington Premier F.C. traveled to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving weekend to compete in Western College Development Association matches. The WCDA is a program featuring thirty elite soccer clubs from eight western states who compete throughout the year at various events to determine champions for U13 through U18 age groups.

The U13 and U14 WCDA seasons began in Utah in August and concluded last weekend in Nevada. Washington Premier’s U13 and U14 Black team advanced all the way to championship matches on Sunday, November 27. Coach Wade Webber’s U13 boys wrapped up a perfect WCDA season on Sunday with a 2-1 win over the Las Vegas Heat to bring the championship trophy home. Earlier in the weekend they topped Diablo F.C. (1-0), Downtown Las Vegas S.C. (3-0) and the Colorado Storm (4-0).

Coach Bryan Yorke’s U14 boys went undefeated in group play over the weekend with wins over Diablo F.C (1-0) and Downtown Las Vegas S.C. (4-0) and a 1-1 tie against the Colorado Storm. They battled through injuries and played well in the final, narrowly falling 0-1 to Marin F.C. of Northern California. Big congratulations to both teams for representing our club so well in their inaugural seasons in the WCDA!

The WCDA season for U15 and older teams will continue until the championships in June of 2012, but our U15, U16, U17 and U18 black teams continued their seasons in Las Vegas. Coach Seth Spidahl’s U15 boys sit alone atop the Northwest group with a 5-0-1 record after recording wins against Diablo F.C. (3-0) and Mustang Internazionale (2-0) and a 2-2 tie against Marin F.C. in Nevada. Their next WCDA event is in Arizona in February.

Coach Gary Heale’s U16 boys beat Mustang Hotspurs of Northern California 1-0, but fell by the same score to both Diablo F.C. and the Las Vegas Heat, taking their record to 2-3-1 in WCDA play. Their next event in the program is also in Arizona in February. Coach John Yorke’s U17 boys managed a 1-1 tie with Mustang Celtic of Northern California, but dropped one-goal decisions to both Diablo F.C. and DeAnza Force. Their next WCDA event is in Portland in January.

Coach Wade Webber’s U18 boys started their weekend with ties against Diablo F.C. (3-3) and Mustang Reds (1-1) before winning their final game against DeAnza Force, 2-0. They will also be playing in the WCDA event in Portland in January.

From the entire Washington Premier F.C. staff we thank the players and coaches for their efforts, the families for their support and we wish you continued success in the 2012 portion of the WCDA season!
