'96 ECNL Striker named Idaho Gatorade Player of The Year

’96 ECNL Striker Kelcie Hedge, a 5-foot-7 sophomore midfielder from Post Falls High, was named the 2012 Gatorade Idaho Girls Soccer Player of the Year, becoming the first player from Post Falls to receive the honor.

She now has 42 goals for her career.

"Kelcie Hedge is a special player," Idaho Olympic Development Program assistant director Skyler Bell said in a press release. "Technically, she is very strong. She can beat players off the dribble once she is faced up, and she does it in a variety of ways. She has a great understanding of the game tactically and makes consistent good decisions."

Hedge scored 18 goals and had 12 assists this past season, leading the Trojans (13-7) to the state 5A championship game, and was the state’s Offensive Player of the Year and is a two-time first team all-state selection.
