Led the UW Huskies in scoring this spring with 6 goals
| The defending Pac-12 champion Washington Huskies completed a productive spring, finishing 7-1-3 over 11 games. The Dawgs played a high number of games, usually two in a day to provide more opportunities for their exceedingly deep roster. The highlight of the spring came early on as Washington defeated the Sounders reserves, 4-3. In that game, Darwin Jones showed off his multitude of talents, recording a hat trick. Jones would go on to lead the Dawgs in scoring this spring with six goals. While the scoring from Jones was expected, the Huskies second-leading scorer of the spring was Danny Gavin who redshirted last season. Gavin scored five goals this spring as he looks to become a big part of the Washington offense in his second season next fall. The other standout for the Dawgs this spring was left back Andy Thoma. Already a proven player for the Dawgs, Thoma has taken another step forward as a two-way player that anchors the backline and gets forward to distribute the ball, leading to several Husky goals this spring. The Dawgs bring back most of last year’s roster that lost just two games last season. This includes Spencer Richey who looked back at full strength in goal after missing most of last year with a broken leg. Richey and Ryan Herman split time in goal this spring giving the Dawgs two outstanding options in net. One newcomer this spring was Garrett Jackson who is part of next fall’s freshman class, but enrolled early to get on the field this spring.
